Character building and co-curricular life

Assembly, naat and qiraat, speech, sports and the annual prize distribution.

Character as a reported outcome

Punctuality, honesty, respect for teachers and classmates, care of school property and readiness for lessons are observed by class teachers and reported to parents alongside academic marks. We treat these as results, because they are.

Assembly

The school day opens with assembly: recitation with translation, a short reminder, the national anthem, and announcements. Students take turns leading it, which is often a young person's first experience of speaking in front of others.

Naat, qiraat and speech

Competitions in qiraat, naat and speech are held during the year, in Urdu and English. They build confidence, memory and composure, and give quieter students a way to be recognised.

Sports and physical education

Physical activity is timetabled, using the play and activity areas available at each campus. Inter-class competitions are arranged during the year.

Annual prize distribution

The annual prize distribution ceremony recognises academic achievement, Quran recitation, sports, attendance and conduct. It includes tableaux and performances prepared by students, and it is the occasion on which the whole school community comes together.

Clubs and societies

Campus-level activity groups are arranged according to student interest and staff availability, and are announced through the notice board each session.
